Malcolm Turnbull's historic announcement for Sydney...

This week Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced the new 'aerotropolis' at Badgerys Creek in Western Sydney. The aerotropolis is a new economic zone around Sydney's second airport and will be equipped with a rail connection, and be supported by major investments in technology, education and advanced manufacturing. "This is a historic day," he said after signing a deal with the state government and several local councils on Sunday.

The announcement was widely welcomed by business and industry groups. NSW executive director of the Property Council Jane Fitzgerald said, “To arrive at a deal is no easy feat and today’s announcement demonstrates a fair dinkum commitment which will improve transport, liveability, housing supply and long-term collaboration across Western Sydney."
